Long after De Pa would have retired, he would be remembered as De Pa who tried to solve all the problems in Sierra Leone. Last week, a large crowd of Okada Riders matched through the streets of Freetown with the body of a dead colleague knocked down by a vehicle, apparently, as he tried to escape arrest for operating in a prohibited part of Freetown. They were met about one hundred yards to State House by De Pa who addressed them right there and promised to look into the matter.

STEALING FOOD FROM PEOPLE QUARANTINED FOR EBOLA?

We are living in a strange country. Just when we thought the nation was together once more as we fight Ebola, we have a press release from the ACC and the Sierra Leone Police announcing that they've foiled an attempt to steal food meant for quarantined people. As they say, these are early days yet in the investigation but we are really just concerned at how the ACC and their ally, the SLP, broke the news:

CDC, WHO and their Doomsday Ebola Projections

We believe most Sierra Leoneans appreciate the work of the CDC and WHO in the fight to defeat Ebola. We hope they will continue to support our efforts. That said, their periodic projections about caseloads create so much panic and despondency that we begin to wonder what really is going on. The latest we've heard from them is that more than 20, 000 people in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone will be affected by Ebola in the next five to six weeks "if nothing is done". They always add that caveat.

Ose to Ose Ebola Message, But Could We Have Killed Many Birds With One Stone?

By all the accounts we've heard so far, the Ose to Ose Ebola sensitisation went well in many parts of the country. It will take a few more days to produce concrete results for us to determine how much of a blow we gave the Ebola virus. We congratulate all Sierra Leoneans for obeying the rules. It was tough in this dreg- man economy.

ON EVE OF LOCKDOWN: SPARE A THOUGHT FOR THE HOMELESS

It's a fact that the vast majority of Sierra Leoneans have a place they call home to withdraw to during the coming lockdown, no doubt about that. But it's also a fact that there are very many others who are homeless and are on the streets the whole day looking for food and spend the night on market stalls. Let's think about them during the lockdown.
