The SLPP “welcomed” their leader from abroad the other day in the most extraordinary fashion. They had the perfect opportunity to demonstrate strength in Freetown, a region in which they have received serious battering in terms of high profile defections to the APC and daily media kicking over this and that – this was Maada’s day in the sun – in the sun or under the palm-tree? Anyway!

Usu Boie is home at last.
Ask any APC partisan what the defection of Usu Boie to their party means and you will get a one-word answer: Landslide. And we understand why they should be so optimistic. The presenter on one local radio station which carried the whole program live said the same thing. The headlines in many newspapers have been no different. All of this helps to enhance De Pa’s mood and keeps him believing he is out of the reach of his opponents. Not bad.

THE DALAI LAMA SPEAKS IN BO
Slaughtered in his own legal abattoir, harassed and battered by De Pa’s relentless rear guard action against his party, facing the threat of extinction like any Dinosaur, The Dalai Lama stormed Bo town the other day to see if De Pa E Yai is still open. Those who came to see him did so more out of curiosity than a demonstration of real grassroots support for his movement.
