Freetown City Council on flood mitigation exercise

As part of the flood mitigation efforts in the capital, the Freetown City Council (FCC) has commenced clearing garbage-filled gutters to help tackle flooding during the rainy season.

Agric. Ministry to increase commercial agriculture

After signing a performance contract with President Julius Maada Bio this year, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka has promised that his ministry will increase the level of commercial agriculture and key agriculture-related policies, and undertake rehabilitation of infrastructures in the country.
President Bio during the signing detailed specific outcomes to which he expects the ministry to contribute for the long term-term development of Sierra Leone.

USID to roll out $3.6m projects to councils

Western powers back war crimes court in Liberia

Liberia’s long wait for a war crimes court is over after President Joseph Boakai signed an Executive Order for the establishment of an Office of a War and Economic Crimes Court.
The move has been welcomed by the United States, the European Union, and the regional grouping ECOWAS, more than two decades after the end of the country’s brutal civil war that left some 250,000 people dead.
