The appropriation sub-committee in Parliament has blamed the low performances of ministries, departments and agencies on the “poor forecasts” in budgetary allocation on the ministry of finance.
In a hard-hitting report presented in parliament by the committee chairman, Claude Kamanda, MP, the committee observed that excepting the ministry of finance, agriculture and the road maintenance fund, the budgetary allocations to all the other MDAs assigned to the committee were “inadequate.”

The Core Technical Committee Pillar Working Groups in Agenda for Prosperity Secretariat on Monday presented the “Agenda for prosperity” document to Parliament.
In his presentation, the Director of Research at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Alimamy Bangura said the Agenda and its flagship projects were in their preparation stage, adding that a summary of the document was brought to parliament for their perusal, approval and recommendations.

The Director of Prison Watch has told journalists and human rights organization that their latest report on juveniles in detention was not meant to prove anything but to stimulate dialogue with the Government, especially the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs.
